This time around, the pregnancy is much less "all-consuming" than it was the first time. I've hardly cracked open my What to Expect When You're Expecting this time; it was my constant companion the first time around. Clearly, I'm only now beginning the blog; last time, I'd written 8 posts by this point in the pregnancy. I suppose that's to be expected. A nearly-2-year-old running around sure keeps your mind off less noticeable things, such as an as-yet-to-be-felt baby swimming in your tummy. As such, Mike and I have not even begun to think of names at all yet. While we had quite a list going by this point in the last pregnancy, this time, we immediately felt like it would be a total waste of time to think of any names until we knew the sex of the baby. Better to save that extra 50% of effort on useless names for more useful activities, like swinging your little boy upside down from his feet so that he can attack the tower he built like a monster again and again and again.
Speaking of finding out the sex of the baby, we'll find out that critical piece of info on January 4. Until then - it's time to poll! What do you think this baby will be? Last time, in case you're curious, 61% of you correctly predicted that Conor would be a boy. Cast your vote in the poll to the right. Polls will close on the night of January 3.
Tomorrow, we'll reach the end of the 14th week of pregnancy. I'll log back on then to resume the weekly photos to document how the baby is growing, and I'll detail how things have gone so far. Stay tuned!
